What to do During a Shelter-in-Place Emergency!
In the
event of a the accidental release of dangerous chemicals, safety
sirens will sound to alert the public.If
you hear the sirens, or are told by teachers or other adults to
Shelter-in-Place, remember to:
Take
these actions right away:
- Go
inside (if you're at home, take pets with you)
- Close
and lock all windows and doors (locking provides a tighter seal)
- If
there are gaps in windows or doors, seal with tape or damp towels
- Turn
on the radio and tv to get more information
- Wait
until you get word of an "all clear" before going back
outside
